Artcraft Sign Company is Raleighs’ oldest custom commercial sign shop, celebrating 75 years of quality sign craft and service. Artcraft was started in 1933 by Jimmie Weaver. Mr. Weaver began his career in the trade hand lettering theater showcards (advertising posters) for local theater houses in and around Raleigh /Durham NC. He developed Artcraft through the years and eventually transitioned operations and ownership of Artcraft to his daughter Sylvia. Sylvia Weaver owned and operated Artcraft Sign Company from the early 1960′s untill she sold the company to Jim Jackson (me) in August of 2009.
As we move forward in the new millennium, we remain connected and proud of our long history. Securely anchored to our foundation, we are looking forward progressively by adding leading technologies such as Computer Numeric Control Routing (CNC), Full Four Color Digital Output capabilities, Light Emitting Diode Technologies (LED) and more. We feel that what makes Artcraft special in today’s market is our passion for our craft and our unique ability to marry old school techniques, experience, and craftsmanship with contemporary expertise, technology, and partnerships. The fact that we are also an Art Gallery is just cool!
